I will be tweaking this over time. I talk about this format in Episode 26 of the old podcast found at http://protacult.blogspot.com The basic format is a Deming cycle (plan, do, check, act)

Sync in music 15 seconds

Open: vocal intro with music background 1 to 2 min

Segment 1: 5 to 10 min vocal intro of topic (Plan)

Bumper: 10 sec of music

Segment 2: 5 to 10 min vocal examples of topic working (Do)

Bumper: 10 sec of music

Segment 3: 5 to 10 min vocal examples of topic success or failure (Check)

Bumper: 10 sec of music

Segment 4: 5 to 10 min vocal examples of how to improve for your own projects and contact the show to add to the conversation (Act)

Closing statement: 1 to 3 min of vocal summary of topic with music background

Sync out music: 15 sec of music

Here’s something to consider. Take it for what is worth….

If your show opening is just music or filler (in other words you’re not give out something critical) I recommend keeping it to less than 1 min. 30 seconds or less is ideal.

The intro will be a standard “Welcome this is the show here is where to contact us at” kind of thing. I was over estimating the time it might take. (typical PM move)
